Treatment Principles and Prognosis in Dental Trauma with Challenging Cases
Traumatic injury may affect dental hard tissues and/or the periodontal ligament and every dentist must be capable of performing the emergency treatment in dental practice. In dental trauma cases, detailed examinations as well as proper and on-time interventions are important in the success of the treatment. Necessary referrals, clinical and radiological follow-ups are needed in order to avoid complications. Endodontic considerations and immobilization by splinting are important in relation to survival of the traumatized tooth. In this presentation, the treatment principles in relation to the type of the traumatic injury will be discussed with the help of clinical cases.

Early Childhood Caries: Problems of the Very Young and Role of the Family
Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is a term that defines cases with dental caries in children younger then 71 months old. Severe-ECC is used for young children with smooth surface involvement and dmf-s more then the number obtained by age. The presentation will include the information on etiology of ECC and prevalence all around the world. Prevention methods in relation to the family with self-management goals and an example field study that showed the effect of oral health education on prevalence will be presented. Furthermore, management of ECC will be discussed with clinical cases and consequences will be reviewed.

Defending Caries All Through The Life Phases
Preventive dentistry includes oral hygiene practices of the patient as well as diet recommendations and professional dental applications such as topical fluorides, remineralization agents, antimicrobials, sealants and contemporary non-invasive treatment options.
Development of good oral health starts in pregnancy and continues all through the lifecycle where the needs and the expectations differ in time. Natural course of life may be affected by innate deficiencies or changing health conditions that may influence oral-health. The presentation will give examples of caries prevention methods for different life phases and situations and guide the practitioners transfer the current knowledge to their everyday clinical practice.
