Professor Nermin Yamalık had her postgraduate dental education in Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hacettepe. She also holds Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. She served as a member of Dental Practice Committee, Education Committee (2001-2010) and Council ( 2010-2016) in World Dental Federation (FDI). She is a member of Turkish Society of Biochemistry, Turkish Society of Periodontology, Ankara Dental Chamber and Foreign Affairs Commission of Turkish Dental Association. She is a full time Professor at Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hacettepe.

Evidence Based Dentistry (EBD) and Critical Thinking
Evidence based dentistry (EBD) and critical thinking are crucial both from a scientific and dental practice standing point due to their potential impact on the outcome of dental treatment and the success of dental practice. Further, the benefit of effective implementation of EBD into dental practice is widely accepted. Thus, every dental practitioner is expected to have a general understanding of EBD and critical thinking, implementation into daily dental practice and the practical methods for EBD.
