Short CV
Manami Sato graduated from the Nippon Dental University of Niigata, and Molecular and Regenerative Prosthodontics, Tohoku University. In 2010 she became a director of Sato Dental Clinic opened in 1927 by succeeding. Now she is also Director of Japan Dental Association and Standing Director of Miyagi Dental Association. Co-Authored book: “3.11 Identity” with Japanese Unidentified and missing persons response Team.

Dental Care and Oral Health for Achieving Healthy Longevity in an Aging Society
Japan Dental Association has been working on prevention of NCDs and frailty to increase healthy life expectancy, with a goal to enable all citizens to enjoy being able to chew and speak over their entire lifetime. As a front-runner of super-aging societies, stakeholders including clinical practice, academia, and public sector, etc. are working together to achieve this goal. The presentation introduces various activities in this effort.

Learning Objective :
  1. Following the extension of average life expectancy, its discrepancy from the healthy life expectancy has been recognized as a society-wide problem in Japan. How dentistry can contribute to this issue is discussed from the viewpoint of a female dentist and director of Japan Dental Association.
