Hande Sar Sancakli is Assoc.Prof.Dr in Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry. She worked as “Visiting Lecturer” in King’s College Dental Institute and has publications in international/national journals , bookchapters and international conferences and hands-on-courses about adhesive and minimal invasive dentistry. She is Board Member of IU , TDA International Affairs, FDI Education Commitee and Chairperson of ERO/FDI Continuing Medical Education.

Defending Caries All Through The Life Phases Through Every Phase of Life
Preventive dentistry includes oral hygiene practices of the patient as well as diet recommendations and professional dental applications such as topical fluorides, remineralization agents, antimicrobials, sealants and contemporary non-invasive treatment options.
Development of good oral health starts in pregnancy and continues all through the lifecycle where the needs and the expectations differ in time. Natural course of life may be affected by innate deficiencies or
changing health conditions that may influence oral-health. The presentation will give examples of caries prevention methods for different life phases and situations and guide the practitioners transfer
the current knowledge to their everyday clinical practice.

- Recognize caries risk assessment for the patient.
- Identify the needs of the patient regarding health status and life span for prevention.
- Define appropriate preventive measures and non-invasive treatment approaches regarding the demands of the patient.
