Comprehensive Policy Development and Implementation: Good practice from Argentina to improve oral health and address NCDs
Dr Schoj will summarize the recent advances and leadership by the Argentine government in developing, updating and implementing policies which serve to reduce sugar consumption, with a focus on Argentina’s 2015 food-based dietary guidelines, and food and beverage labelling regulations, and the implications of these policies for oral diseases and other NCDs. She will also present Argentina’s Less Salt, More Life initiative, and how the dental community can engage in the NCD response to ensure that a similar approach could be employed for sugar, in order to scale up good practice.
